An exhibit encouraging a personal connection to fine art is on display at the Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) from May 5 to June 27, 9 am – 5 pm. Focused on breaking down traditional walls between gallery viewers and displayed art, the exhibit features textured, evocative pieces that beg to be touched, from smooth, yet dimpled metal sculptures to rough clay pots, and even pieces incorporating braille, infusing meaning into the work that only the blind can perceive. This exhibit acknowledges that touch is essential to both physical and mental health, providing a sense of understanding and grounding. Please note the CAC is not open on weekends.

The complimentary opening reception will take place on Thursday, May 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, hosted by Sankofa Catering & Special Events.
