“HigherGround” – A Black History Month Exhibit

An exhibit titled “HigherGround,” which focuses on connecting with the higher self, is on display at the Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/ Douglas County (CAC) in honor of Black History Month, from January 8-February 20, 9 am – 5 pm.

Each invited artist was selected for their talent, courage, and ability to create meaningful work. Artists Nathan Addley, Brill Adium, Melissa Alexander, Danae Antoine, Demetri Burke, Demo, Dontanarious, Camisha Butler, Kendall “Pow Wow” Chambers, Ruby Chavez, Shanneil Clark, Emmy Esquerre, Kenniese Franklin, Kaylah Haglar, Charity Hamidullah, Nia Jackson, Yvnonne McCoy, Marryam Moma, Gwyneth Morton, TJ Reese, Tim Short, Ryan Walker, Jasmin Warnock, and Latif Yahyaa have all produced exceptional pieces for inclusion in the exhibit.

The opening reception will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 5-7 pm, hosted by Douglas County Connection. Anyone and everyone is invited.
