The CAC Kicks Off 40th Anniversary Year with Annual Meeting
June 2 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) will celebrate its fortieth anniversary at this year’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 2nd, from 6–8 pm at the CAC located at 8652 Campbellton Street. This annual informational event is always free and open to all interested parties, but this year it has been expanded to include state-fair-themed anniversary fun.
Established in 1986, the CAC has become a Douglas County staple, bringing can’t-miss events, camps, classes, public art, and so much more to the community each year. As the long-running arts nonprofit enters its 40th year, game-changing plans are underway for a Douglasville Arts & Culture campus, continuing the CAC’s growth trajectory as it moves into its next 40 years of operations. Always obsessed with efficiency and stewardship, the CAC invites the community to see how much it has accomplished with the gifts it received in FY’ 2026.
This year’s Annual Meeting is state-fair-themed, to celebrate the CAC’s fortieth anniversary, and will feature festive food and art vendors, live performances, games, great company, and more. Executive Director, Emily Lightner, stated,d “Our communities’ hunger for the arts motivates us, drives us, and keeps us going. This work has an honorable purpose – for the arts and for the benefit of our growing community, economic development, and cultural infrastructure. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of doing it.” Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to celebrate with the CAC and hear about its last action-packed year and what’s to come in FY’ 2027.
