CAC Summer Pop Up Party
The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County (CAC) is hosting its annual Summer Pop-Up Parties on July 25, August 8 & August 15, featuring exciting vendors, activities, food & more. The next Pop Up Party will take place on Thursday, July 25, from 5-7 pm at the CAC located at 8652 Campbellton St.
It’s a party in your backyard! On July 25, visitors will enjoy refreshing icy snacks provided by LL Cool Treats, locally smoked meats by G’s Mobile BBQ, festive non-alcoholic fruit drinks from The Coconut Hut, and baked treats galore from Desserts By Jewelz and Tyrrific Treats. Find lovingly crafted handmade products at the artist market featuring Dirty Soap Shoppe, Fantastic Art by Jyn, Sunshine Subcreations, and jBloom Permalinks. Southern Industries will also return to answer your home improvement questions. The CAC has invited young makers to vend at their Summer Pop-Up Parties for the first time. The July 25th Summer Pop-Up Party will feature two youth-created businesses, Anna Brooklyn Creations and Ryanne’s Art, with participants aged 8 to 16. The CAC sees this event as an opportunity to provide business experience for young craftspeople in a safe, monitored environment.
After enjoying live music by the West Georgia Ukulele Ensemble, grabbing a snack, and browsing the artist market, guests can explore the NEW Tiny Fundraiser community exhibit and view the Fine Arts exhibit, “Confessions: Art Heals the Broken,” which showcases the profoundly introspective, healing works of four regional artists. Each Summer Pop-Up Party offers a chance to discover local artists and businesses and browse the exhibit. Don’t forget to also mark your calendars for the upcoming Summer Pop-Up Party dates on August 8th and 15th.
The CAC organizes art-filled events throughout the year as part of its fundraising efforts. During the summer, the CAC hosts the “Tiny Fundraiser,” where 6×6 artworks are sold for $20 to support the arts. A local artist lovingly paints each 6×6 canvas! This tradition has become a favorite among locals, who return year after year to add to their collections and support local artists at an affordable price. The Tiny Fundraiser has evolved into a community-driven initiative, and visitors are encouraged to collect a 6×6 artwork at each Summer Pop-Up Party.
